Dorm

I moved into my dorm a week and a half ago, it has finally sunk in that this is actually where I live. I posted pictures of my quilt and pillows here. I'm so glad that it all came together how I was expecting. I didn't think I would care so much about my tiny dorm but having a clean and happy room makes me feel relaxed and happy.

Orange Paisley Quilt

Here is the newest quilt in my etsy shop! I think I said the last one was my favorite quilt ever but this new one might be my new favorite. It reminds me of those orange dreamsicles.

DIY Wedding Invitations

One more wedding post! Making the wedding invitations was one of the first projects we did. The bride, Shih-Ping, had a pretty specific look in mind so we decided that making our own would be the most cost effective for what she wanted. I included details about everything if you want to make a similar invitation.

Wedding Dress and Photography

I'm so excited to share this post! My brother and new sister-in-law got married last week and they let me take some of their wedding pictures. I also made Shih-Ping's wedding dress.

Outdoor Wedding Reception

Our deck was my favorite part of the whole reception, the lights and hanging flowers created such a cool atmosphere. I didn't take pictures until really late at night so they came out a little grainy but in real life it was gorgeous.

DIY Wedding Food

We did all the food ourselves, and we were still working on it until the last minute. I didn't get pictures of everything, we also had homemade artisan bread, cheeses, sun-dried tomato pesto (my favorite thing ever), meatballs, and kabobs with tortellini, tomato, fresh mozzarella, olives and pepperoni.

I'm a really bad at photographing food, I promise it all looked better in real life.

Fruit kabobs with grapes, strawberries, pineapple and cantaloupe.

Wedding Open House Decorations

My brother and new sister-in-law got married this past weekend! We had a little reception at our house on Friday night. They were married the next day in the Boise temple, and we had a family dinner afterwards. We were so glad we planned it this way so that the wedding day was relaxing and focused on the temple ceremony.

DIY Wedding Flowers

When we were starting to plan the wedding, one of the things we really wanted was lots of flowers. Our least expensive option was to order them in bulk through Costco and arrange them ourselves.

Wedding Planning!

So, my older brother and his fiancée are getting married in May, and they gave us just eight weeks notice. But we love them, so my mom and I have been going crazy planning a wedding on a budget.

Last weekend I took some photos for their wedding invitation/announcement. I'm still figuring out how to use my camera but I think I got a couple good shots. I also got a ton of candids that I actually really love, like these:

New Quilt on Etsy

I put up a new quilt for sale in my etsy store! This one is my absolute favorite, I'm going to have a hard time letting it go after spending so much time on it! I really love the colors in this one.

Quilted Pillow Sham {Tutorial}

A couple months ago I posted my little sister's bedroom makeover that I made a quilt and some pillows for. I recently did the same thing to my other little sister’s room and wanted to share how I made the quilted pillow shams. The tutorial for the flower pillow is here.

Fleece Flower Pillow {Tutorial}

Hi! I’m really excited to share this tutorial! I have made quite a few flower pillows out of felt, and it always takes so much time to cut out 80+ individual petals. So, I decided to try making the petals out of strips of scallops and it is SO MUCH faster. I also made this pillow out of fleece which is softer than felt and doesn’t pill as much.  So here’s the tutorial…
